Other Attractions in the Area

The production facilities of Codelco-Chile El Teniente Division (Mine, Concentrator and Smelter) are in the outskirts of Sewell. Visits in organized tours are available.

There are many other tourist attractions in the area; among which the following are the most remarkable:

• Chapa Verde Ski Resort:

  A beautiful winter resort located 53 km from Rancagua. It was established by the El Teniente Division's workers, and it is open to the public."Chapa Verde" has a lodge and a restaurant, apart from 22 ski slopes -both for beginners and experts-, a coaching school and equipment rental.
  

• Coya Country Club:

  One of Chile's best golf courses, located 22 km from Rancagua, in a beautiful mountainous landscape. The club also features tennis courts, a swimming pool, leisure rooms, dining rooms, a bar and accommodation in cabins.

• Cauquenes Thermal Spa:

A hotel inspired in the Gothic style, built in wood in 1885, is the center of the Cauquenes Thermal Spa (25 km from Rancagua), well-known for its gastronomical quality and for the historical events that took place in the area.
The hotel still keeps a large bath hall lined with European marble pools and modern Jacuzzis. Its thermal waters are recommended for the treatment of bone-muscular, skin and respiratory diseases.

 

• The Cipreses River Reservation:

Located a few kilometers beyond Coya and the Cauquenes Thermal Spa, featuring hectares of native forest. There, in the midst of a natural environment, is Ranchillo, a tourist and gastronomical center.
